Roots Community Health Centre truly cares
The health and social needs of newcomers is often complex. Many have endured significant and sustained hardships prior to arriving in Canada.
Settling into a new country is hard. Yet we know newcomers bring many skills to our country.
We are there to help newcomers as they seek a family doctor, medical care, look for housing, schools for their children, employment and many other settlement tasks.
We know all these impact their health and wellness

Roots CHC improves Health and Wellness in Newcomers’ Lives
At Roots Community Health Centre (Roots CHC), we deliver culturally safe, person-centred, ongoing care for vulnerable newcomers in Surrey. We are a safe, welcoming place where newcomers feel confident seeking care and guidance.
Our team—primary care providers, allied health, and social service professionals— address social determinants of health alongside clinical needs — including settlement, housing, jobs, school, food, and language.
By partnering with local health services and community agencies, we coordinate timely referrals and solve problems together, helping newcomers access the right medical care and community support faster, lowering barriers, reducing strain on our clinic while meeting high demand.
